Military rehabilitation
Amputation changes a person's life forever. Having lost a part of himself, his body, a person faces challenges (physical, psychological and emotional) and limitations that require, just yesterday, a healthy and strong warrior, great willpower, determination and courage to continue living and fight for his future in new realities.
Prosthetics and physical rehabilitation restore the ability to move and cope, but this is only the first stage on the way to full adaptation in life.
Physical, psychological, virtual, professional, emotional, social rehabilitation of military personnel is very important. We do our best to ensure that our Warriors who have been injured in war have a decent rehabilitation because they deserve it!!!
How do we help?
In February 2023, we, the CF "With an Angel on a Shoulder", began to cooperate with the State Noncommercial Enterprise "Center of Complex Rehabilitation "Halychyna", which is used to rehabilitate military personnel with amputations received during hostilities.
Involvement in the activities of the foundation, mountain hikes and excursions, fishing trips, boating, hippotherapy, jumping from a height, art therapy, trips to the theater, and, even elementary – a stylish haircut - this is the emotional support that defenders receive with amputees from the Center of Complex Rehabilitation "Halychyna" (in Khutorivka and Veliky Lyubin) from volunteers of our foundation
Virtual reality (VR) room
Virtual reality (VR) is a technology that is actively developing and has recently attracted the attention of doctors, rehabilitation specialists and psychologists. VR began to be used as an auxiliary method for the rehabilitation of the wounded. Virtual reality rehabilitation is effective for phantom pain, for improving the psycho-emotional state, and as an alternative to drug anesthesia and its addiction. That is, sessions in a helmet are used to distract attention, to shift it from pain to something pleasant or interesting. At the same time, it eases the condition of injured soldiers and civilians, and also reduces phantom pains after limb amputation.
We, CF "With an Angel on a Shoulder", thanks to the funds of benefactors and the efforts of our volunteers, created a virtual reality room on the basis of the "Center of Complex Rehabilitation "Halychyna". Now, specialists of the Center are working in this room, conducting psychotherapeutic and physiotherapeutic sessions for the recovery of military personnel who are undergoing rehabilitation at the "Center of Complex Rehabilitation "Halychyna".
The estimate of the project was UAH 100,000.
